Matthew is a Principal at DVT McLeods and leads the firm’s Melbourne office, with responsibility for driving the growth and development of the firm’s presence in the Victorian market.
With more than 16 years of experience in restructuring, insolvency and business turnaround, Matthew brings extensive technical knowledge and commercial experience to complex and financially distressed situations. He works closely with business owners, directors, financiers, creditors, lawyers, accountants and other professional advisers to develop practical strategies and navigate periods of financial difficulty, business transition and recovery.

Matthew has extensive experience across a broad range of formal insolvency and restructuring engagements, including voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships, small business restructures, corporate recovery and business turnaround. His experience spans businesses of varying sizes and across a diverse range of industries.
Known for his pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, Matthew is skilled at assessing complex financial situations, identifying viable options and managing competing stakeholder interests. He recognises that financial distress often requires difficult decisions to be made quickly and focuses on providing clear, commercially considered guidance so that directors and stakeholders can make informed decisions.
